Hello dear friends! It’s that time of the year again! Christmas is coming and 23 Greek related crocheters have teamed up to present you with a festive Crochet Along (CAL). It was a lovely idea that my friend http://iwanna.gr/ had last year, and as it was great fun, we’ve decided to repeat it this year! Our festive project is not just a Crochet Along, though… It’s an Advent Crochet Along! Hence the hashtag #adventcal2020. Join me in the journey of getting to know us…
What is a Crochet Along you may ask. It’s a project where everyone who participates crochets the same pattern during a specific period of time. In our case, it’s 24 free patterns, all different and unique! When will it take place? From December 1st to December 24th.
What is an Advent Crochet Along then? You know the Advent Calendars where each day until Christmas you open a window to reveal a little gift? Imagine a virtual Advent Calendar, where each window you open reveals a free crochet pattern. Isn’t that exciting?
The 24 patterns where designed by 23 crocheters, who either live in Greece (and Cyprus), or they are Greeks who live abroad. All patterns are unique, brand new designs and vary in skill level, from beginner to intermediate. The theme is “Holidays”, “Winter”, “Christmas”… you get the picture.
How will it work: starting from the 1st of December, each day a new crochet pattern will be released and posted on the designer’s Instagram feed. On each post you will get all the information you need to make the pattern (materials list, photos and instructions). It’s very simple and great fun!
Rounding up: join the #adventcal2020 project and fill your holidays with free crochet patterns! It will run from December the 1st to December the 24th and each day you will find a new crochet pattern. All the info you will need will be in the post of the crocheter who designed each pattern and the project will be quick and easy to make. By the end of the CAL you will have 24 unique holiday gifts for you and your loved ones! Follow #adventcal2020 and the designers involved, so you won’t miss any of the free patterns and, please, use the hashtag so we can all admire and share your wonderful makes!
Happy Crocheting and Happy Holidays!
what a jolly post
